Description
Every Wednesday we are holding shooting lessons at the Breakaway Ice Center (20 Carter Street, Tewksbury, MA) on synthetic ice. We provide these for private lessons as well as group lessons.
We will hold sessions for up to 4 players aged 10 and older on the larger synthetic ice (Size 20X52 FEET) and up to 6 players aged 5 to 9 years old on the smaller synthetic ice (Size 16X40 FEET).
Our sessions will last 30 minutes prior to our Wednesday on ice sessions and every session will consist of the the following 3 blocks:
- 5 minutes wrist and forearm strengthening exercises using wrist rollers with light plates attached to it) as well as stickhandling exercises using wooden balls, regular and weighted pucks. During this block our players will be strengthen their forearms and work on “soft” hands in order to become better puck receivers and shooters over time
- 20 minutes of shooting drills – this will be the core of the sessions where our players will work on different shots from different angles (wrist shots, snap shots, one timers, forehand to backhand dekes, backhand to forehand dekes). During this block our players will shoot close to 100 or more high quality and detailed shots – we do believe in repetition, however we want to make sure all reps are proper reps as well.
- 5 minutes of shooting competition or full ice scrimmage. In this block our players will have their fun time with all the skills they acquired during the session in form of various shooting competitions or full sheet scrimmages (scrimmage will be played with a street hockey ball)
Dates and times: Every Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm
